The content closely follows the curriculum guidelines and includes suggestions for extended activities and thematic inquiries for teachers to apply flexibly in the classroom. Students can also continue playing and learning after school. The zone will feature interactive workshops that transform abstract engineering knowledge into tangible and hands-on experiences, allowing students to grasp various engineering concepts and embody the STEAM spirit of 'learning through play and doing'. During the exhibition, participating schools will share their learning journeys and showcase student work, displaying the children's achievements.
Additionally, starting from the 2026/27 school year, the platform will launch the 'Hong Kong Infrastructure Discovery Tour', taking students out of the classroom to visit multiple engineering projects and professional facilities. They will learn about the planning, design, and construction processes of large-scale infrastructure and witness how innovative technologies are applied on construction sites, bridging STEAM knowledge from the classroom to real life.
Zone Two: 'AI and Robotics: Building the Future Intelligently'
This zone will take visitors into the future, showcasing automated construction, intelligent monitoring systems, and construction robot demonstrations. Children can witness how technology makes construction faster, more precise, and safer. The zone will also display the industry's award-winning innovative scientific research achievements from the 'Geneva International Invention Expo', along with the Construction Industry Council's display of advanced technologies. Through immersive interactive experiences, visitors can step into a virtual construction site, experiencing construction processes and intelligent management modes, and grasping the new trends in digital engineering and future construction education.
Zone Three: 'WE BUILD GEN C: Constructing the Future'
The zone will exhibit the winning entries from the 'Hong Kong-wide Secondary School STEAM x BIM Construction Model Creative Design Competition 2025', organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Construction. It will showcase how secondary school students applied building information modeling (BIM), TwinMotion, and 3D printing to visualize their architectural designs. An immersive virtual reality experience area will play 360-degree videos of the winning entries, allowing the public to immerse themselves in the future envisioned by the students and thoroughly experience their creative achievements.
The venue will also host lectures and workshops on various themes, as well as the 'Construction x STEAM World Skills Competition' series of workshops, enabling participants to gain insights into the diverse professional fields, career ladders, and prospects of the construction industry from different perspectives.
Zone Four: 'Hong Kong Infrastructure'
This zone introduces bridge engineering, underground facilities, building construction, regional development, transportation, and road tunnels through six themed panels, 'using the city as a textbook' to decipher the design concepts and engineering wisdom behind Hong Kong's large-scale infrastructure projects.
As children recognize familiar landmarks, they will also discover that the buildings and facilities they encounter daily harbor unique scientific and engineering stories, fostering their curiosity, interdisciplinary thinking, and perspective on observing the city.
Highlight of the Infrastructure Carnival: Take on the 'Infrastructure Tour' Challenges and Win Exclusive Mascot Gifts
This exhibition features an interactive game called 'Infrastructure Tour', turning the entire venue into a fun and educational infrastructure carnival. To encourage parents and children to explore the main exhibition zones, the organizers have prepared exclusive gifts featuring the mascots of six government works departments and the Construction Industry Council. These include Civil Engineering Lion from the Civil Engineering and Development Department, Down Down from the Drainage Services Department, Gizmo from the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, Roady from the Highways Department, Drippy from the Water Supplies Department, Archi from the Architectural Services Department, and Captain Build-It from the Construction Industry Council. Upon completing designated tasks, participants can receive exclusive exhibition souvenirs such as folders, unique stickers, pens, eco-bags, and stamps.
Participants will receive an 'Infrastructure Tour' stamp card and then move between different game areas, including 'Hong Kong Bridge Pair-up', 'Infrastructure Photo Op', 'Construction Safety Pioneer', 'Virtual Reality (VR) Welding Simulation Training System', 'Remote-controlled Crane Simulation', 'Infrastructure Connection Challenge', and 'Infrastructure Whiz Challenge'. As they clear each challenge, they will receive a stamp on their card, and the rewards are plentiful:
